Unsung

Hooray! We're playing at Maldon!

For the past couple of years we've been busking our way around the cafes and joining each other's sets. This year, (as well as me coordinating the Roddy Read Songwriters Awards) Unsung will be appearing at Maldon in our own right! We love this weekend of excellent music and we always end up doing a heap of terrific material development into the wee hours as well.

Sunday Sounds at the Royal Talbot

Soon you will be able to click the Sunday Sounds logo to go to the Sunday Sounds at the Royal Talbot website

This concert event is the brainchild of Leticia Maher and has been put together by a committee of very committed - and by now very probably committable people. I know this because I'm one of them. It's a concert spanning the entire afternoon, featuring some pretty top hole artists, children's entertainment, food stalls and of course wonderful music. The cause is to raise awareness - and if we're roolly lucky, money - for the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. To find out more about the Royal Talbot itself follow this link.

'Out of the Shower' CD Launch

The Launch was a terrific success and thanks to everyone who came along to help me have one of the best nights of my life!

Special thanks to Patrick Robertson, door bitch extraordinaire with the skilled and calm assistance of Helen and musical accomplices Harry Williamson, Bee Williamson, Maribel Steel, Mary Stentiford (my Mum - what a backing chick she proved to be!) Peter Vadiveloo, Moira Tyers, Neil Robertson and Leticia Maher.

Thanks to all those who bought CDs, from which $5 of each sale went to the Eyes for Africa appeal. Click on the logo to visit the website and find out more about Julie's valuable work.

Tamar Valley Folk Festival - Thank you George Town!

Wow what a good time I have had! Met some stellar musicians including Phil Manning, Nick Charles, the wonderful band Milk. Got to breath the same air and have a hoot of a time during the after concert sessions. Attended the Nick Charles workshop - very levelling, but what an artisan! I also met some lovely people who were so encouraging and warm in their reception of my music. A stunning and heartwarming time.

And thank you Cygnet! and Malcolm Turnbull and Alex Myers for including me in the "Once Were Hippies" concert at Cygnet. An honour and a pleasure to play with some luminaries of the Tasmanian folk scene of the 60s and 70s.

To anyone who asked about my new CD and who would like to be on an emailing list to order a copy please email me or click on the links below. The CD's title is "Out of the Shower" and features Bigger Than This by Mary Caruana, assisted by Brent Parlane.

Port Fairy and Brunswick festivals were a blast! Thanks to the organisers of both. Port Fairy's Lions Club volunteers were absolutely fantastic the way they looked after the musicians and their instruments. Always a smile, and always so helpful. Just an amazing job done by all.
